Life can be challenging and uncertain! Living in a COVID-19 world has added to that uncertainty and complicates our ability to cope with life’s most common challenges. Join facilitator Mary Thomson MSW, RSW, RP (Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist) in this 2-part series, as she helps us to deal with the continued uncertainty of these times.
This is an opportunity to name the uncomfortable emotions that are surfacing, discuss the strategies that we are currently using, and learn ways to cope more effectively. Mary will explore how to work with our thoughts and values to create flexibility, resilience, and hope. We will learn some principles and tools from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) so that we can move gradually from merely surviving to thriving.
Session One: Tuesday, March 1, 7:00-9:00pm
How Are We Doing? Dealing with Uncertainty, Loss and Change in a Not-Quite-Post-Covid-19-World: In this session we will reflect on the uncertainty we are experiencing; name and seek to understand our emotions and what may be contributing to our stress; reflect on the ways in which we are coping and on how we can do so even more effectively.
