Thanks for wanting to do a Good Deed! On this page you can find activities, causes and programs that are looking for some extra hands to get something done. Take a look, and whatever grabs you, email the person in charge, and soon you will be doing a good deed.

Here are some good deeds that you should consider:

No One Should Study Hungry

Today, 40% of university students deal with food insecurity. Every university in Canada has an active food bank, including our neighbours at Glendon College. The North Toronto Cluster of Churches are ready to help.

We are raising money to buy grocery gift cards for hungry Glendon students. You can help by purchasing a gift card for $50.

Donations are being accepted through Glebe Road United Church's Benevolent Fund. To donate please click here (tax receipt from Canada Helps). You can also give at our church office and leave a cheque payable to Glebe United Church and put Benevolent Fund (Glendon) in the memo line (tax receipt from Glebe United Church). Thank you.

Ukrainian Newcomer Support – Kingsway-Lambton United Church

We are VERY thankful for all the donations received from the congregation and the wider community. We have received enough to cover the rent for all 3 townhomes for 3 months! We have also fully furnished all 3 townhomes in Brampton with your contributions. We are considering helping more families by outfitting another 1 or 2 townhomes.

Our remaining needs are very specific now: desks, kitchen bar stools as well as temporary storage for furniture. Please email Margo Mingay at minwin@sympatico.ca if you can assist with these. Also looking for a handy person to help with small jobs. Kindly email Donna-Lee at donna.lee.waymann@gmail.com

Welcome Basket project for the Roehampton Shelter

Every month, 5-10 people leave the Roehampton shelter to move into an apartment which the City has helped them to find ( and often fund). Those apartments are usually pretty empty. The welcome baskets project provides them with a large basket of household amenities, like blankets, dish towels, dishes and cutlery. Participating churches take turns creating the baskets each month. Here is the schedule for when each church is delivering. If you have new or barely used items that you would like to give, please contact either your church or a church which is delivering in the next month or two.
