Though it was the beginning of a golden age for rock music, 1965 was a time when the radio played a variety of musical styles. The Baby Boom had created a huge young pop music audience and youth tastes ruled. Classic hits of that year by the Beatles, the Stones, the Lovin’ Spoonful, Simon and Garfunkel and many more are still as beloved and vital today as ever. Dr. Mike Daley tells the fascinating story of pop music in 1965, illustrating his talk with sixteen songs played and sung with his wife Jill on violin and piano.

ESG United Church is a spacious and comfortable church with excellent acoustics and upholstered chairs instead of pews. Our sanctuary is well known as a venue for concerts.
